I grew up Catholic, and have always been suspicious of religious figures! The Church presented a fairly scary view of sin and punishment when I was in primary school. And by the time I was 15 or 16 had grown above the need for the type of guidance the church/ God offered, I could go it alone!

Or so I thought... jump forward 13 years and I am sitting with a psychic being told about my future and that I needed to find God.  She led me to a book called Conversations with God and said that everything would be ok.  I did for the first time in many years feel that I had a future.  I hadn't realised until that afternoon that I had nothing to work with, no future that I could envision, and that I was in desperate need of some  spiritual guidance, something that would speak the un-see-able to me and bring meaning to all of my experiences.

So, I went in search of a God I could understand.

Jump forward another 6 years and I am sitting in a cafe this morning being told that today's message was from Jesus!  Well, I'm not stunned at this point, kind of excited actually.  Though I had to reflect on how much I have come to see that I can have the healing and messages of these religious figures without having to buy the religious message that came out of their lives.

I don't believe in sin, but I do see what Jesus can bring us today (if we get back to the core message).

At 15, I was digested that the Catholic Church could outcast homosexuality, sex before marriage and create 'sin' out of life. This was life for many people, and how on earth did this guy in the white dress get the right to dictate how people could live their lives!! I found it hard understand that people could accept the Churches message without questioning it.  What made sex, homosexuality or anything else 'wrong' - who said?!

I said in last week's blog post that I believe religion has damaged us.  But need to add here that religion is man made and not actually created by these figures who want to speak to us today.

Peace, love and compassion - these are the messages we need to carry forward.  To focus on these positive ideals and not worry about who is sinning, and why - nor whether or not they should be punished - is what life needs to be about.  We need to focus within.

How we live each moment of our lives is all that is important.  And if we want to reach the Christ Consciousness, the depth-healing or even just take ourselves up a notch in the realm of life, we need to focus hard and create this change for ourselves.  We need to not worry about what anyone else is doing and just live our lives.

Though, we have a lot of fear to undo.  And until we come back to focus on our own hearts, this fear wont be healed either within our lives or within the mass/ego consciousness.
